InfoLocal are planning to place InfoLocal Kiosks in Greensborough Shopping Plaza and Highpoint Shopping Plaza by September and further expansion to follow.

Not with-standing the excellent results from the statistics gained InfoLocal have determined that still many shoppers are unaware of two capabilities of the kiosk. Firstly, many do not realise they can find any advertisement for closer inspection on one of the two touch screens provided and request a docket printout with the advertisers contact and incentive details. Secondly, many shoppers are still unaware of the significance of the “$” symbol. This identifies this advertiser is making a special offer should the printed docket be submitted upon subsequent purchase with the advertiser. InfoLocal will have a representative at the kiosk at busy periods (Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings) to assist shoppers by demonstrating the features and functionality of the kiosk.

After four weeks in operation we have gathered some useful statistics which in turn can assist our advertisers. In one six day period we recorded a total of 998 hits. A “hit” is where a shopper had stopped to use one of the two touch screens and purposefully selected an ad for closer inspection. Of these 998 selections there were 301 docket prints requested. As this sample was taken on the third week of operation these figures are very encouraging and suggest that many shoppers are intuitively using the kiosk. The statistics clearly showed the advantage of offering an incentive. There were almost twice as many hits and printouts when an incentive was available for an advertisement.

InfoLocal Kiosk officially opened on the 12th May and was well utilised with ads for mortgages, maternity, optical, kindergym, movies, welding, real estate, parent support, jobs, air brushing and many more. Lovegrove supported the opening with sparkling white wines.
